Samenwerken met oog voor kwaliteit

How I work

At ITCAD, everything revolves around structure, collaboration and quality.

Listen carefully, develop smart solutions and collaborate transparently.

You'll work directly with me, Nick. Personalized and with a keen eye for what you truly need. No hassle, just results!

Remote-first, for a reason

I work primarily remotely—and that's a conscious choice. Not because it's convenient, but because it works. For you and for me.

Working remotely allows me to use my time much more efficiently: No travel time, no distractions, just focused work on your project. Plus, I'm much more flexible. Need a quick consultation or to check in with you? I'm already at my screen.

And there's something else I'm proud of: I'm a volunteer firefighter. When the pager goes off, I'm ready. Thanks to my remote work, I can combine that responsibility with my work at ITCAD.

Yes, I might have to leave suddenly. But that doesn't happen every day, and I factor that into my schedule. In fact, this role forces me to be organized, clear, and transparent. And that's exactly what you, as a client, notice: structure, clear communication, and commitment. Did you know, by the way, that 80% of the Dutch fire brigade consists of volunteers?

Would you prefer hybrid working? That's certainly possible too – for a kickoff, product demo, or a specific on-site meeting, for example. A lot is possible in consultation. But remote remains the foundation for me. Not because it has to be, but because it works!

From idea to a clear plan

We always start with a good conversation. You tell me what you want to improve, model, or automate. I listen, ask questions, and take a fresh look at your workflow.

We then develop a concrete plan of action:

  • What are we going to model / automate / program?
  • Why do we do it this way?
  • When will it be ready?

Small team, short lines

At ITCAD, you'll work directly with me. Feel free to call, email, or text me. We keep things personal, practical, and fast.

From day one of our collaboration, I work on the first version of the product that delivers immediate results: a functioning SketchUp extension, 3D BIM model, or software application.

I work in short sprints of 2, 4, or 6 weeks using the SCRUM methodology. You'll receive regular updates or demonstrations. This way, you stay involved and we can make timely adjustments.

That keeps things moving – and ensures solutions that really work in your practice.

Flexible collaboration

Collaboration can be done in two ways:

  • Project basis – with a clear fixed scope and price.
  • Hourly basis – if you want flexibility or further development.

Whatever form you choose: We make clear agreements and communicate clearly.

Your code = your property

I believe in openness and ownership. When I develop something for you, it truly belongs to you. That's why you always receive the full source code of the software I've developed specifically for your company. You can do whatever you want with it:

  • Adjust yourself;
  • Further development with others;
  • Integrate into your own systems or products.

And I? I reserve the right to reuse clever parts of the code I develop — such as logic, structures, or techniques — in other projects. But I never resell what I create for you directly.

Why does that also work for me as a developer?

Because I can learn from what I develop. I can reuse what I've cleverly designed, without copying your unique solution. That makes our collaboration fair and transparent. No lock-ins, secrets, or vague constructs. Just clear agreements based on trust.

Does this sound like a way of working that suits you?

Let's meet! No obligations, just brainstorm and see if we can help each other.
